With the Know the FUNDamentals, you deepen, expand or refresh your existing knowledge of the fund business in Switzerland, Luxembourg, Ireland or Dubai in 3 days. For up-and-comers and career changers in the fund world as well as specialists who want to gain an understanding of the rest of the value chain.

Know the FUNDamentals is ideally suited as preparation for the Swiss Fund Officer.

Fund Officer

For two decades, the Swiss Fund Officer (SFO) has been the standard for collective investment education in Switzerland. More than 30 high-ranking lecturers from the field, 12 course days, group work and discussions at the very highest level and depth of the subject matter. The course takes place twice a year in Zurich in German and once a year in Geneva in French. Participants receive a diploma they can be proud of after passing the exam.

As a complementary training for Swiss Fund Officers, Fund Academy runs the International Fund Officer (IFO). This 3-day programme takes participants to Luxembourg or Dublin. Upon passing the final examination, they acquire the title “International Fund Officer”.

FUND Basics

The fund market is complex. Getting started doesn’t have to be.

New to the fund industry? FUND Basics provides guidance and orientation – from fund classifications and pricing to fund regulations.

In just one day, you will gain an understanding of the key players, processes and legal foundations of the fund value chain. You will work with fact sheets and Key Information Documents (KIDs), building confidence for your day-to-day work.

The course is fully online. It is ideal for newcomers, career changers and those in assistant roles, as a refresher or as preparation for more advanced courses.

The course is fully online and is offered for the following domiciles: Switzerland (German/French), Luxembourg, Ireland and Dubai (English).

By completing FUND Basics, you will acquire solid foundational knowledge and conclude the course with an examination and a certificate.

International Fund Officer

Secure a strategic knowledge advantage in the international fund business – in just 3 days of training in Luxembourg, Dublin or Dubai.

As a complementary qualification to the Swiss Fund Officer, Fund Academy offers the International Fund Officer – a compact, three-day intensive programme in Luxembourg or Dublin. Of course, you can also participate at both locations. The programme takes place as part of our Know the FUNDamentals courses in Luxembourg and Dublin.

Through practical modules, you will expand your knowledge of the regulatory, product-specific and market-specific characteristics of two of Europe’s leading fund centres. The programme concludes with a certification exam.

All Swiss Fund Officers can obtain the International Fund Officer by successfully completing a Know the FUNDamentals course in Luxembourg, Dublin or Dubai.
The title “International Fund Officer” not only demonstrates your international expertise but also strengthens your position in the global fund market.
